Incredible HAM BONE Tabl
This is an incredible story for a country guy like me. When I found this I felt like a Redneck Archaeologist.
All true.

Around 1970 a boy is playing with his dog. He is throwing a hambone and the dog is fetching it. The bone gets stuck in the fork of an Elm tree in his yard. It is too hard for him to climb and he can't reach it with a stick. The boy moves away when he graduates High School. 40 years pass. The man gets a call from his mother in 2006 asking him to cut down a few trees in their yard where he grew up. He cuts down the elm and some cedar trees and brings the logs to a local Woodcarver (me). I decide to slice the Elm into Tabletops. When I cut the 4th slice I find this odd shaped thing that I had cut right through the center. I looked at it for about 10 minutes without picking it out and realized it was a HAM BONE. I called the man who had dropped off the log and told him what I found. He miraculously remembered the story and came back to see the slices. They have been sealed and made into a pair of matching end tables and may or may not be for sale.
I walk by these tables all the time at my lot and look at them in amazement.
