THE CAR
1985 Lincoln Town car -
Demolition Derby- Bloomsdale (April) & Hillsboro( July)
December
Late one night in the cover of darkness Uncle Jessie, Cooter, and I picked up the abandoned Lincoln in Crystal City. (We paid for it....really) Cooter drug the car while I attempted to steer and brake and Uncle Jessie was on the lookout for Roscoe P. Coltrane.

February
4- With the help of Rony (my Mexican compadre), we stripped the inside of all the plastic and deadweight material (flammable stuff).

11- My daughter Rose and I busted out all the glass. It was fun, but messy. Then I read later that there are cleaner ways to get it out ...Oh well! One of our favorite Father/daughter passtimes is playing Star Wars. Not the Video Game. We get two used 4 foot flourescent bulbs (Light Sabres) and do battle trying to break the other Jedi's bulb. We wear safety equipment of course. :)

20- The beast has fire. I hadn't heard this engine run yet. But after fiddling with it for a spell, I got it to turn over and and it was trying to start.
27- Yanked the front seats out, and alot of wiring, trim, and dashboard. I accidentally yanked the ignition housing off and the ignition switch fell apart, so I taught myself to Hotwire by trial and error. I still cant keep it runnin, but its turning and firing.
I havent decided if I'm going to compete in the Bloomsdale Derby or just go and watch for tips and tricks.

March
5- Had someone wrench out some parts they need. and had Kyler cut some steel for the "rollcage.
11- Installed headers. I bought some shorty's for $40 off Craigslist, flipped 'em upside down and welded on some fence pipe so the look like horns. Cut holes in hood. Need soup cans to put on top.
12 - Met a guy on the road and bought holley 600 carb, coils, gasket sets, air cleaners, and many other things for next to nothing. Looking for a 4 barrel intake.

21- Cooter came with the tow vehicle and we hauled it to the "bat cave" for engine testing.
April

12- Cooter and I tore out the unneeded wiring and intake. Nathan and Stephen helped also with loosening bolts and demolition of the engine compartment.
